COVID-19 Resources & Latest News

Updated 5:00pm on March 24, 2020

Experience Bryan College Station continues to monitor the rapidly changing situation related to the spread of COVID-19. We understand that concerns for health, safety, and the impact on meeting attendance, among other issues, affects our community. Our main priority is the health and safety (physically, economically, and socially) of the residents and visitors of the Bryan College Station community.

According to the Brazos County Health District, there are several steps you can take to protect yourself from getting sick:

  • Wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds;
  • Avoid sharing food and drinks;
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth;
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or into your elbow; and
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Be mindful of items in your hotel, such as remotes, coffee makers, elevator buttons, etc.

As of 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, BCS and Brazos County residents will be under a shelter-in-place order for two weeks to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Non-essential business facilities to close except for "minimum basic operations." Grocery stores, pharmacies, healthcare offices, gas stations, hardware supply stores, banks, etc. are all deemed essential. Again, read the order for more details about this. Restaurants will continue to operate as they have been: Takeout, delivery, drive-thru only. Click here to read the full order.  |  Click here for the Spanish version.

We encourage all travelers and residents to follow guidelines recommended by the Brazos County Health District & the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

We want to encourage residents of Bryan College Station to continue supporting local restaurants while maintaining safe social-distancing practices and adhering to the shelter-in-place order. We have compiled a spreadsheet of independent & locally-owned restaurants offering take-out, drive-thru, & delivery options. Find the list here, and check back as this spreadsheet continues to grow: experiencebcs.com/eat-local
