Monarch butterflies will fill the skies Saturday, July 21, 2018 in a mid-morning event, “Wish Upon a Butterfly” at the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. This symbolic event will highlight the elegant monarch, the Texas state insect and a signature icon of transformation, hope, and awe.
This annual fundraiser will take place from 9 am-12 pm, paying homage to celebration, childhood wonder, the memory and presence of loved ones, fallen or deployed service members, new beginnings, and more. Guests may design their written wishes—as a personal keepsake, for public display or both--and prepare to receive their purchased butterflies for the 10 am release.
One butterfly ticket purchase per family includes admission to the Museum where visitors may enjoy the observation bee hive, butterfly displays, and other Museum exhibits. During the event, a variety of brunch-style refreshments will be available for ticket holders.
Butterflies are limited. Guests may pre-purchase butterflies, each at a cost of $30, by calling the Museum and securing an order by credit card, or by mailing a check to: Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, Butterfly Release, 3232 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan, TX 77802. Guests may also purchase butterflies the day of the event if any remain available.
